Snow!

(It was the best they could do in a parking lot)

Two weeks ago we woke up to snow!  It usually snows at least once here during the winter, but usually it's in February.  So we were surprised to have a nice dusting so early in 2013.  We headed off to school as usual that morning, but found that the closer we got to school, the more cars we saw going nowhere.

Mougins is funny because there are different pockets of the town where temperatures can vary widely.  And the school is in one of those places where there was lots of black ice, small side roads and hills.  Not a great combination when trying to get to school!  We made it really close, but couldn't quite get there.

We ended up turning around (not to anyone's dismay, let me assure you!) and headed back toward home.  We decided to stop and get some supplies at the store to make cookies, and the kids had a little fun in the parking lot.

Carter insisted that he make a snow angel.  I didn't want him to get his coat dirty, but then realized that was a dumb adult way to think.

Who knew the parking lot could be so fun?  It was so amazing that Carter left his backpack there and I had to rack my brain the next day to figure out where it was!

It turned out to be a nice day at home just hanging out.  The kids played nicely and we made cookies and everything.  I guess everybody needs a snow day once in a while! (Even if two hours later the sun was shining and it was a gorgeous day outside--at least at our house!  But the roads up near the school were still a mess. haha)
